Leadership & Youth: Several Fairgrounds youth pledge at 815 rally to help make Rockford a better place

The pledge was made during the second rally for 815 Choose Civility, a community initiative formed as part of the Transform Rockford movement to promote civility as an antidote to civic and social dysfunction. The event took place at Crusader Community Health, 1202 W. State St.
“Some of us (are) trying to do good,” said Anthony Holliman, who has seen the effects of Rockford crime firsthand. He was with 14-year-old Jamario Crawford about a week before Crawford was shot and killed last November.
