For more than five years, scores of dedicated volunteers have been working to improve the living and working conditions in our region through Transform Rockford, a movement dedicated to turning Rockford into a top-25 place to live by 2025. Here’s a look at one of the people powering the movement.
Name: Jeff Fahrenwald
Age: 62
Occupation/profession: VP strategic development and execution, professor emeritus
TR project team name: Alignment Support Team co-chair. I have worked with Transform Rockford almost since the beginning, first with the data team, then as a facilitator and trainer for the visioning sessions.
Project update: The Alignment Support Team works to ensure alignment between all key stakeholders related to Driver Plan Projects.
Favorite thing about Rockford: Summer Music venues – literally you can listen to music outdoors every day of the week. All the local restaurants.
Recent signs of progress: Our thriving downtown, the Rockford Park District’s inclusive and open approach to planning for the future.
In 2025, I hope … We are THE place to live, work and play in the Midwest
Why get involved with TR? To be a part of the solution. To assist in making this the best region it can be for ALL who live and work here.
