In recent news, popular DJ “DNice” made headlines hosting a listening party on Instagram via his private residence. His act of kindness engaged over 150K worldwide listeners which included the likes of many A-list celebrities and former first lady Michelle Obama. Transform Rockford will be creating a similar experience, but doing it Rockford style! In partnership with the musical mastering of DJ Rated AG, we are hosting a region-wide virtual listening and dance party to promote community resilience and our shared value of unity. This event will provide residents with a wide range of great dance music, and something happy to do in while following the stay at home order.

“Happy” Hour will take place virtually after the work day on Thursday, April 9, 2020, from 5:00-8:00 P.M., via Facebook Live on the Transform Rockford Facebook page. Residents will be encouraged to log on and enjoy the music, type uplifting comments and interact, and to continue following the Facebook page to remain aware of the work TR does for Rockford.

“Our team was in the process of planning our annual brand awareness event where we engage with residents and inform them of our work, while also using the time to celebrate our volunteers and year-long successes. However, when circumstances change, so does strategy. The morale of our region is a high priority right now, and music has a special way of offering community healing and unification. I’m excited we’re hosting something that’s just plain fun for Rockford” – Executive Director, David Sidney, Transform Rockford

Antwon George, also known as Rated AG, is a steady supporter of Transform Rockford. Last year at our 2019 “Pop-Up” event with the Rockford Art Deli, we saw 750 people and they’re still raving about the music from Rated AG. He also appeared April 2, 2019 on the @TransformRockford Instagram page as a “Comeback Kid.”
